Regional Importance

The **Nord Department** is one of the ten departments of Haiti. It is a bastion of Haitian history, serving as the seat of the Kingdom of Northern Haiti under King Henri Christophe. Its capital, **Cap-Haïtien**, is known as the "Paris of the Antilles."
