I must look ahead
And keep moving forward
Not too far lays my destination.
Though along the way I may find distraction
That will lure me in with allure.
Naught but flesh as I am
I am but a weak human
I will fall prey to fascination
Giving my attention even my affection
Having fallen to the attraction
Yet I must beware of the charm
Only capable of bringing harm.
A reminder to never get attached
For I know this to last only for a moment.
The more beautiful, the shorter.
At times I may live my own fantasy
I will never want it to end
As I have made a friend,
Though I know all good stories must come to an end.
I have lost a kindred spirit
Yet I want to bring it all back.
And within me it burns
An Inextinguishable anger.
I am paying the price
I’ve broken the rule
Despite myself I’ve gotten attached
What A Fool!
And keep moving forward
Not too far lays my destination.
Though along the way I may find distraction
That will lure me in with allure.
Naught but flesh as I am
I am but a weak human
I will fall prey to fascination
Giving my attention even my affection
Having fallen to the attraction
Yet I must beware of the charm
Only capable of bringing harm.
A reminder to never get attached
For I know this to last only for a moment.
The more beautiful, the shorter.
At times I may live my own fantasy
I will never want it to end
As I have made a friend,
Though I know all good stories must come to an end.
I have lost a kindred spirit
Yet I want to bring it all back.
And within me it burns
An Inextinguishable anger.
I am paying the price
I’ve broken the rule
Despite myself I’ve gotten attached
What A Fool!
